Girls Track & Field opened the door to their 2017 season on Friday evening in Palm Coast as the Green Wave would finish with a solid 6th place showing in the very strong Flagler Pinnacle Classic field. Zosia Yurkiewicz would blaze to a new school record in the 600M race with a time of 1:39.60 to finish 2nd overall. The 4X100 Relay team would finish in 7th place with a time of 55.60 while Caroline Lydecker would finish in 6th place overall in the 300M race with a new school record time of 44.26. Zosia Yurkiewicz would bring home the top honor in the 800M race with a 1st place showing in a time of 2:28.80. Senior Annie Morejon would finish in 6th place in the 800M with a time of 2:42.10, while freshman Clair McDonnell would finish in 4th place in the 1600M race with a time of 5:56.32. Zosia Yurkiewicz would finish in 3rd place overall in the Long Jump with a 16' 6.5" attempt, while Caroline Lydecker would finish in 4th in the Triple Jump with a 31' 7.75" attempt. Junior Kristen Paquette would finish in 2nd place overall in the high jump with a 4' 6" attempt, in her first ever track meet! The Green Wave look to ride their solid start to the season into next Friday's Carl Friedland Memorial Invitational at Bishop Moore Catholic High School.
